Temporary International Student Advisor

The International Student Advisor (ISA) serves as campus resource for immigration matters pertaining to international students. Provides accurate immigration information to international students, through meetings and email communication, monitors and tracks student compliance status, and helps to maintain appropriate files.
In this role, you will be responsible for providing academic and immigration advising services; ensuring students are following regulations and assisting with student compliance through the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS).
The position of International Student Advisor requires considerable knowledge of immigration law and regulations. The ISA should also possess the interpersonal and intercultural skills necessary to work closely with international students and parents, program staff, and college administration.

Campus Location:

Required Knowledge:
Bachelor’s degree required
Comprehensive knowledge of current F-1 visa rules and regulations. Very comfortable using SEVIS DSO experience required Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, take initiative, and maintain a high level of efficiency. Excellent interpersonal skills Ability to effectively communicate in oral and written form.

Preferred/Desirable Knowledge:
Master’s degree preferred

Required Prior Work Experience:
Very comfortable using SEVIS
