Job description

Duties: A position is available for a motivated and detail-oriented team-player, looking for a position as levelD research specialist. The position is part of a newly established research group in the Center for Cellular Immunotherapies (CCI) known as the Translational Immunology Laboratory (TIL). The research in TIL is aimed at a) studying the tumor microenvironment in chronic lymphocytic leukemia and other malignancies using single cell genomic and proteomic technologies and b) understanding and improving the anti-tumor efficacy of adoptively transferred gene-modified T cells through correlative, mechanistic, and pre-clinical studies, and partly through functional genomics approaches. We utilize various gene editing technologies in human primary T cells and interrogate phenotypes of these and other cell types using standard and high-end bulk and single cell analytics, flow cytometry, cytometry by time-of-flight (cyTOF), and single cell RNA sequencing, and examine gene edits via including cell culture, xenogeneic animal models. The main responsibilities of this position will be to support the laboratory head, post-docs and graduate students by performing animal experiments, assist with CRISPR/Cas9 experiments, virus production and concentration, RNA production; culture of cell lines, T cell lines and clones; perform flow cytometry and cyTOF experiments and assist with the electronic sorting of cell subsets; conjugate mAb with isotopes for cyTOF experiments; Western blotting and gene expression analyses via RNAseq, qRT-PCR, digital PCR, and single cell RNAseq; and cytokine production assessment via flow/mass cytometry, ELISA, and Quanterix. In addition, this position will, at least initially, support general laboratory operation by maintaining a laboratory reagent and supply inventory, keeping laboratory records up to date.

Qualifications: Master's degree in Biology or related science and 3 years to 5 years of experience in immunology, tissue culture, flow cytometry, and related disciplines or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Ph.D. encouraged as well.

* Previous lab experience in areas of cancer preferred
* Strong background and demonstrated experience in T cell immunology and flow cytometry.
