Duties: The program manager is responsible for managing all administrative aspects of the Reading, Writing and Literacy (RWL) program and works closely with faculty in the development and delivery of all academic functions of the program. These responsibilities include academic administration of MSEd., Ed.D. and Ph.D. programs; admissions and recruitment efforts for these programs; and overall program management. More specifically, the Program Manager ensures that required and elective courses are appropriately rostered and staffed; plans and oversees program orientations; manages a portfolio of activities designed to enhance the student experience; serves as the primary contact for RWL students, and when appropriate advises these students; regularly interfaces with faculty, Penn colleagues in other schools and offices, prospective students, visitors, and alumni; manages recruitment and admissions for RWL degree programs in collaboration with faculty, and GSE admissions; represents the program at GSE events, on committees/working groups, and attends divisional faculty meetings; manages the program budget and monitors expenses; gathers information for short- and long-term planning; hires, trains and supervises student workers.
Qualifications: A Master's Degree or more and 3 years to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
