Posting Summary:
The Foundation Relations office of the University of Virginia is launching a newly reformed program to forge strategic relationships, strengthen foundation fundraising across Grounds, and build a strong base of resources. The Foundation Relations team is part of University Advancement, the comprehensive fundraising operations at UVa.

The Development Associate, Foundation Relations plays a critical role on the Foundation Relations team by providing research, special project, and administrative support. The Development Associate is responsible for completing foundation research, creating and presenting reports, drafting written correspondence and foundation submissions, and liaising with groups of key stakeholders around Grounds. He/she will also handle scheduling, making travel arrangements, preparing proposal and report materials, maintaining donor records, providing stewardship assistance and other administrative support responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will have at least two years of administrative or research experience, possess excellent communication and organizational skills, and be a capable writer. They will have experience in researching and analyzing background and financial information using internet search engines and subscription-based foundation databases. Proficiency in Microsoft Office including advanced proficiency with Excel is required.

This is a restricted position and continuation is dependent on funding.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must be to research and analyze background and financial information using internet search engines and subscription-based foundation databases. Must be skilled in the use of these subscription- based foundation databases and able to train others on best practices. Must have demonstrated writing and proof-reading skills. Must be able to grasp complex subjects, meet deadlines, and communicate with a wide-variety of people.
