Position Description: The University of Northern Iowa's College of Education seeks applicants for an Instructor in Educational Leadership and Postsecondary Education. This is a renewable nine-month appointment starting January 2019 with possibility for summer teaching. The responsibilities of this position include: teaching educational leadership courses in the principalship; superintendency and international teacher leader programs (with focus on superintendency); supervising student internships; serving on and directing doctoral dissertation committees and student research papers; and collaborating on program curricula development. Educational Leadership faculty members participate in and conduct conferences, workshops, and seminars; work collaboratively within a program unit; and professionally involved at the university, local, state, regional, and national level. This position will also coordinate the Educational Leadership/Special Education/Postsecondary Education doctoral program.

Education Requirements: Earned doctorate in educational leadership or related field required.
Required Qualification: Required qualifications include demonstrated evidence of providing leadership and professional development for teachers that supports student achievement; successful administrative experience in PK-12 schools to include the superintendency; and experience teaching graduate-level education in the preparation of school leaders with a focus on multiple methods of distance education instruction.
Desirable Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated experiences in public policy related to education and knowledge of ELCC standards for school and district level leadership; involvement and experience with the Carnegie Project on the Education Doctorate (CPED); and oversight of doctoral degree programs.
