CU Succeeds Lecturer
The CU Succeed Silver program seeks part-time Criminal Justice Lecturers to teach CU Denver Criminal Justice courses to Denver area high school students.
This program enables high school students to take CU Denver courses in their high schools for dual credit during the school day. All applicants into this position are seeking approval as CU Denver Adjunct Faculty members to teach CU Denver courses that are requested by Denver area High Schools.
We have courses for the Fall 2018 semester that we need to fill immediately. The posting will establish and maintain a pool of Lecturers for the CU Succeed Silver program. Candidates hired from this pool will fill temporary, non-tenure track positions and will teach no more than two courses per semester. Appointments will be part-time (less than 50%) and will be made semester-by-semester, depending on the needs of Denver area High Schools.
- M.A. or M.S. in Criminal Justice, Criminology or a closely related discipline*, or
- B.A. or B.S. in Criminal Justice, Criminology or a closely related discipline* AND a M.A. or M.S. in any field in addition to at least 18 graduate level credit hours in Criminal Justice/Criminology or a closely related discipline*.
Closely Related Disciplines: The following degrees will be use by SPA HR as an initial pre-screen for qualifying applicants. Program Directors may consider degrees outside of this list:
Criminal Justice, Criminology, Law, Law and Society, Sociology, Psychology, Political Science, Public Affairs
Program Directors will consider these degrees on a case-by-case basis for some qualified courses (e.g., a Psychology degree may qualify a person to teach a Criminal Psychology elective).
