Job Description
MUST BE A CURRENT GRAD STUDENT AT TAMUCT, ENROLLED IN A MINIMUM OF 6 SEMESTER CREDIT HOURS AND IN GOOD ACADEMIC STANDING TO APPLY.

Job Summary:
Graduate Assistants - Research (GARs) are responsible for working on research projects in collaboration with or under the direction of a faculty or staff member. Duties assigned may include gathering, organizing, and analyzing data related to specific research being conducted.

The Office of Recruitment & Undergraduate Admissions is seeking a detailed, task-oriented individual to assist in the daily operations of the Office of Recruitment & Undergraduate Admissions. Candidate must adhere to strict confidentiality guidelines regarding sensitive information, possess strong communication and organizational skills and have the ability to multitask.

The graduate assistant position will be a key member of the team and will provide front line customer service to internal and external customers, which may include the general public, prospective students, applicants, current students, staff and faculty members.

Job Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Call prospective students and/or applicants when missing or updated information is needed
  • Answer incoming calls as needed
  • Respond to admission email inquiries as needed
  • Meet, greet and provide customer service to prospective and current students, staff and/or faculty when entering the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.
  • Provide general admissions information as it pertains to prospective or current students
  • Collect and review submitted documentation for accuracy and completeness
  • Make copies and file admission documents accordingly
  • Assist with imaging of documents as needed
  • Shred documents as required
  • Other duties as assigned


Minimum Education/Experience/Skills:
  • Must be a current graduate student at Texas A&M University-Central Texas
  • Must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 semester credit hours
  • Must be in good academic standing
  • Must have strong communication and organizational skills


Preferred Education/Experience/Skills:
  • Prior customer service experience
  • Prior clerical experience


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

The position requires a reliable, competent individual able to perform clerical duties and to communicate with internal and external customers in a professional, effective and efficient manner.

Hours: Monday through Friday; 8:00am-5:00pm; No more than 20 hours weekly

Salary: 12.50/hour (not eligible for benefits)

Start date: No earlier than August 27th
