This is a full-time outpatient clinical position that works in the University Employee Occupational Health Clinic (UEOHC). This position is responsible for making initial diagnoses and first care of work-related illnesses and injuries. The position works closely with and must communicate effectively with the clinic Medical Director; other health care professionals; Environment, Health & Safety Staff; and departmental supervisors. The position is responsible for prescribing work restrictions and appropriate restricted duty, follow-up care, and case management. These responsibilities require a broad base of medical knowledge and the ability to work independently. In collaboration with the Medical Director of the Workplace Safety Manager, the position also develops policies and procedures for the UEOHC.

Education Requirements:

Qualification and Experience: Licensed as a Registered Nurse by the North Carolina Board of Nursing, completion of a Nurse Practitioner program approved by the North Carolina Joint Subcommittee of the Board of Nursing and Board of Medical Examiners, and approved to practice medical acts by the Joint Subcommittee.
