Professional fundraiser reporting to the Director of Development, Annual Giving, in the Office for University Development and Alumni Relations. He/she will be responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding a targeted portfolio of annual fund prospects. Position typically solicits up to $300,000 annually; facilitates up to 150 meetings per year with alumni, friends, and parents. The Annual Giving Officer will also identify and cultivate 10 major gift prospects on an annual basis. The Annual Giving Officer will also work closely with other departments within the Development and Alumni Relations Office including School based Major Gift fundraisers, Alumni Relations, ITS, Research, and other development offices throughout the University to raise the school's local, regional, state, national and international support. The incumbent will also lead special projects (e.g. Parents Councils and Giving Circles) at the request and discretion of the Director of Development, Annual Giving. Travel, both local and national, is required.

Required Education:
Bachelor's degree

Required Experience:
2 years of relevant experience. Must include experience in fundraising, cultivation and stewardship of individual donors

Preferred Experience:
Experience with frontline fundraising in Higher Education academic setting.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills; strong analytical skills. Ability to plan and implement events and develop marketing strategies. Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Experience with specialized fundraising databases.
