Primary Function of Organization Unit: Campus Enterprises is NC State's lead division or retail and hospitality organization - NC State Dining, NC State Bookstores, Trademark Licensing, Lonnie Poole Golf Course, NC State Student Centers (Witherspoon and Talley), and the Wolfpack One Card Services. Each unit shares a common goal; deliver quality and efficient services worth dedicated financial support for student activity and scholarships. NC State Dining provides campus wide food services to students, staff, and faculty on the NC State campus. NC State Dining operates 14 dining areas, seven convenient stores, campus concessions, a nutritional counseling service, and a catering department. We employ approximately 500 employees, of which approximately 140 are permanent EHRA and SHRA.
Essential Job Duties: This position maintains nutritional information, food allergen data, and ingredient information in department's C-Bord Food Management System, by analyzing recipes in the database, correcting data, exporting correct nutrition and food allergen data to various publication systems. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Supports NC State Dining's dietitian and nutritional program, and provide nutritional content to Catering. Maintain and operate product labeling system for the department, which requires full knowledge of principles and practices of nutrition. Develop and maintain a labeling system for the dining halls menu items. Conduct a frequent audit of the food labels on campus. Research information for new products and new recipes for allergens and analyze each ingredient. Responsible for training and support in all campus units that label food items at their site. Assist with maintaining all customer accessible nutrition signage, labels, web pages, and iPads' kiosks with accurate information.
Department Required Skills: Ability to analyze nutritional data. Knowledge of food allergens, labeling laws, and food production and food procurement. Extensive computer skills. Knowledge of CBORD food management system or similar good management system, and Bartender nutrition labeling software. Ability to learn new software.
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education: Dietetic Registration eligibility preferred. Degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
