The State University of New York College at Plattsburgh's Office of Marketing invites applications for the position of Graphic Designer to assist with print and digital publications. We are in search of a highly creative, diligent, deadline-driven team player to join our marketing team. Our successful applicant will produce on-brand print and digital graphics for SUNY Plattsburgh’s marketing and recruitment needs.
Responsibilities Include: Provide graphic design support and production management for print and digital publications of the Office of Marketing, which may include but not be limited to digital ads, HTML email templates, and/or printed recruitment-related handouts or brochures. Assist with SUNY Plattsburgh’s photography collection, including planning photo shoots and maintaining our database.
Required Qualifications: Three or more years of prior related work experience; associate’s degree or equivalent in graphic design or related field from an accredited institution of higher learning; demonstrated talent and expertise in graphic design and illustration, in both digital and print; demonstrated expertise in industry-standard graphic design and publishing programs, including the full Adobe suite and Acrobat, for both the Mac and PC platforms; strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or related field from an accredited institution of higher learning; Expertise in digital photography, both taking and manipulating images; ability to run a professional shoot with a photographer is highly valued; professional-level knowledge of printing technologies and production processes (e.g., two- and four-color processes, SWOP standards, paper stocks and finishes, press issues and quality control); experience in managing a print process with multiple vendors and stake holders; video production/editing experience; digital asset management (e.g. photo archiving and meta-tagging) experience.
