Day Porter (Building/Grounds Specialist II)

Job description

This position requires a high school diploma and two (2) years of related work experience; or 10th grade education and three (3) years of related work experience. A valid SC driver's license is also required. Experience in custodial or housekeeping work is preferred. Ideal candidates will have knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, equipment and safety practices used in large commercial/institutional facilities. Highly motivated candidates with the ability to perform manual tasks, organize general cleaning activities, manage heavy equipment, take the lead with special cleaning projects and work independently are preferred. Day Porters report to the Custodial Supervisor and must be able to work under very limited supervision. Day Porter will maintain a high standard of cleanliness for assigned buildings and areas; perform daily janitorial services; perform inspections of the areas covered by the nightly janitorial contractors; and supervise temporary employees. These positions are considered essential personnel and are required to perform duties during/after severe weather and in other emergency situations. Salary is commensurate with education and experience based on SC pay band 2 $18,229 - $33,728. Application deadline for this position is 4:00 PM, Friday August 31, 2018.
