Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL, founded in 1869 as the state’s second teachers college, is the flagship campus of the Southern Illinois University System. Reporting to the Associate Chancellor for Enrollment Management, the Director of Undergraduate Admissions will work with the Associate Chancellor and other university leaders to set admission policies as well as recruitment and yield strategies to meet the University’s enrollment goals.  The Director is responsible for leadership, oversight and management of the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and all its functions (recruitment, communications, operations, campus visits) and for leading university wide undergraduate recruitment and outreach efforts that support those efforts.  The Director is also responsible for the processing of and making decisions on all undergraduate applicants.

A master’s degree in student affairs, business, public relations or closely related field is required.  The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years progressive leadership and supervision experience in admissions or enrollment management.  Also required is a personal and professional commitment to diversity and staff development, demonstrated by persistent effort, active planning, allocation of resources, and/or accountability for diversity and staff development outcomes.  Demonstrated analytical skills related to budgets, program and initiative assessment are desired.
