The Program Specialist is responsible for the processes that are significant to the operations of Training, Service and Evaluation programs at Temple University Harrisburg. Under general supervision, performs complex and confidential services to ensure operations flow smoothly. Deals with a diverse group of external callers and visitors as well as internal team members at all levels. Tracks program participant applications, ensuring all documentation is submitted; maintains databases of program participants; ensures certificates and credentials are processed; directs preparation of records such as agenda, notices, memoranda, minutes and resolutions for meetings. Composes and prepares confidential correspondence, reports, and other complex documents. Assists with arranging detailed travel plans and itineraries, compiles documents for travel related meetings and trainings and accompanies trainer when requested. Prepares and reviews forms, policies and specialized reports. Screens incoming calls and correspondence. Responds independently when possible. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, and organize diversified workload, and recommend changes in office practices and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
At least two years of related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Required Skills and Abilities:
*Knowledge related to training and curriculum development, human services, family development and strengths based practice.
*Ability to gather data, compile information and prepare reports, maintain accurate records and databases.
*Proficient computer skills.
*Knowledge of computerized information systems used in financial and/or accounting applications, general accounting and budgeting principles
*Strong oral and written communication skills.
*Ability to organize resources and establish priorities.
*Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments.
*Strong organizational skills with the ability track and monitor data with follow through.
This is a grant funded position.
