Student Work Study
This position supports the Transitions Center in its mission to provide students with the necessary tools and experience to ease the transition into college and pave the way to academic success, graduation, and entry into the workplace or transfer to another institution. The Transitions Center houses both the First-Year Experience (FYE) and Career & Transfer Services (CTS). FYE & CTS support programs and events on campus, including: Arty's Orientation, AIMS101 First-Year Seminar, iFocus academic workshops, the Greeting Project, Halfway There Celebration, Catalyst, peer coaching, career coaching, and career and transfer services (resume development, mock interviews, job and transfer fairs, etc…) .
This position will assist the FYE and CTS coordinators in the day to day operations of the Center. Specific task areas may include, but are not limited to: program and event planning/logistics, marketing, hosting, execution, and data tracking/entry; resource connection; committee participation; general office administrative support and customer service.
1. Proficiency in MS OS and Office products - Word & Excel as well as myAims.
2. Must exhibit professionalism, dependability, strong organizational/problem solving skills.
3. Demonstrate the ability to work with limited supervision
4. Strong oral and written communication skills
5. Strong interpersonal skills
6. Has completed at least one semester at Aims
