Job Summary

The Associate Instructor is responsible for coordinating the operations of the radiology program skills lab. The position ensures appropriate lab utilization and provides support to faculty and students regarding clinical rotations and competency completions.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provides technical assistance and regular updates regarding lab services, resources and other issues as needed
  • Provides guidance and remediation for students to become proficient on required competencies in clinical rotations
  • Oversees maintenance of equipment and requests for new supplies
  • Coordinates equipment repairs as needed
  • Allocates and monitors budget for supplies; ensures receipt of ordered supplies and equipment
  • Schedules tours of laboratory, upon request
  • Provides appropriate OSHA postings, brochures and equipment and supplies
  • Maintains stations for lab sections
  • Identifies, classifies, labels, and stores hazardous waste for disposal
  • Identifies needs for improvement; compiles data and prepares reports
  • Interacts with faculty and students to ensure competency in radiography techniques
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Radiography or related field and three (3) year of experience in a hospital setting
  • Possess a valid registration through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
  • All degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
  • Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and
  • procedures
  • Knowledge of inventory management and ability to demonstrate effective management skills
  • Ability to use instructional technology
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database applications
  • Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships with students, faculty and administration
  • Ability to function independently in the laboratory, including solving immediate problems, reducing costs, or making most efficient use of available resources.
  • Ability to work in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff
