The Information Technology Security Office (ISO) is currently seeking an Information Security Compliance Analyst. The IS Compliance Analyst supports the ISO goals and objectives by providing a variety of consultative and support functions to protect confidentiality, integrity and availability of the University assets in accordance with legal, regulatory and institutional requirements. The IS Compliance Analyst is responsible for the day-to-day activities as they relate to the security compliance program and follow-up activities. The Compliance Analyst will act as subject matter expert in areas of IT security, compliance and governance and will work in collaboration with IT, clinical, research, academic and management staff throughout the organization.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
(Performs duties and responsibilities under minimal supervision)
•Develop and maintain IT security policies, standards, guidelines and procedures.
•Develop and maintain IT security plans and standard operating procedures as required.
•Perform technical writing and process mapping.
•Assist in the development and delivery of IT Security education and awareness training to the user community.
•Evaluate IT security, data vulnerability, business continuity and compliance risks.
•Perform follow-up information security and risk assessments.
•Support the information security team’s efforts as requested.
•Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
•Technical understanding of network, server and endpoint security vulnerabilities, risk mitigation and incident response best practices.
•Knowledge of Federal security standards such as FISMA, NIST, SANS and frameworks such as COBIT and ISO2700.
•Knowledge of Data Privacy and Security regulations such as HIPAA, PCI, GLBA and FERPA.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•Strong organizational skills.
•Proficient in the Microsoft business productivity suite, including Visio.

Education Requirements (Essential Requirements):
•Bachelor degree with a concentration in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or Cybersecurity related field and four years work experience or Master’s degree and two years’ work experience. Technical Security certification or comparable preferred.

Patient safety is a top priority. As a result, during the Influenza ("the flu") season (September through April), the University of Miami School of Medicine requires all employees who provide ongoing services to patients, work in a location (all Hospitals and clinics) where patient care is provided, or work in patient care or clinical care areas, to have an annual influenza vaccination.
