Job description

Duties: The Student Development Coordinator will be responsible for the execution and implementation of the Student Athlete Academic Achievement Program (SAAAP), serve as the primary academic services liaison for select sports, and be responsible for a variety of student-athlete wellness programming initiatives. Coordinate a progress reporting system through which student-athletes, coaches and administrators are informed of student-athletes' progress in current courses, attendance in SAAAP activities, eligibility status and progress toward degree.

Develop and create the 'Quaker Experience' program. Design and implement a comprehensive student-athlete development and life skills program that is completely integrated with the academic services offered to student-athletes. Oversee and execute educational training and programs in career development, personal development, health/wellness, first-year transition, leadership development, and preparation for life after sport.

Responsible for certification of initial and continuing eligibility in conjunction with the Compliance Department. Support and assist with recruiting and admissions functions at the team and divisional level.

Manage the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) as the official athletic department representative. Oversee campus partnerships with Alcohol & Other Drugs, Tutoring Center, Anti-Hazing, Campus Wellness Group, Penn Mindfulness and Campus Recreation. Serve as liaison to Penn Positive Psychology Center and collaborate with PPC staff and student-athlete pilot program.

Supervise undergraduate and graduate student workers and interns. Oversee execution of study hall, hire and manage study hall proctors.

Research, implement and manage a software solution for Student Development.

Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree and 1 years to 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Master's Degree in sport management, sport administration, education, psychology or similar field preferred.

Experience with study hall management, tutor management, academic coordination and/or prior student development experience preferred.
