This position conducts research on the impact of pesticide exposure through produce consumption and household pesticide use on vulnerable populations, including pregnant women and children. A secondary area of research is climate and health risk and vulnerability specifically targeting the Caribbean region. The position will also coordinate activities associated with the joint Tulane University-Anton de Kom University of Suriname MPH program and related environmental health research training programs.
Knowledge of environmental health sciences, especially related to pesticide toxicity and climate change
Ability to advise graduate students
Ability to independently design population-based health interventions
Ability to collect and analyze quantitative data associated with population-based environmental health studies
Proficiency in statistical analysis software packages
Ability to present research results to diverse audiences orally and in writing
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures
PhD in environmental health sciences or related field
Teaching experience in environmental health
Bilingual in Dutch and English
