General Summary: The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a 12 month, tenure track position as an Associate or Full Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy.

The University of North Georgia Department of Physical Therapy is an accredited DPT program and is housed within the College of Health Sciences and Professions. Recent expansions of a new human movement lab, a virtual hospital on the Gainesville campus, and state-of-the-art equipment including human simulation provide ample opportunities for research and academic activities to the faculty. Access to well-developed service learning venues, international outreach and clinical partnerships offer a unique setting for faculty clinical practice, research and student mentorship.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  • The faculty member will provide instruction in doctoral PT courses, primarily in the area of neurorehabilitation, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation and prosthetics and orthotics.
  • Additional duties include: Global engagement service activities, the teaching of Spanish to PT students as an elective, the mentoring of student research/innovation projects and advising, scholarship, and service to the University and community.
  • The successful candidate will have a demonstrated line of nationally recognized research and service.


Certifications/Licenses & Minimum Requirements:
  • The successful candidate will have earned a terminal, academic degree (PhD, EdD, DSc)
  • Three (3) years of clinical experience and be eligible for Georgia P.T. licensure.
