This is a limited term position ending September 1, 2021.

Tufts University’s Prospect Development Department is the strategic arm of Advancement’s fundraising division. The department evaluates the philanthropic objectives, giving history and wealth histories of individual prospects, corporations and foundations. This research serves as the foundation for the cultivation of prospects and corporations and foundations by fundraisers.

Interested in growing a career in prospect research, the Prospect Development Department is looking for a prospect research assistant to conduct research. If you are an analytical thinker, who loves to solve problems and is a multi-tasker we can help you grow and learn to use those skills to conduct prospect research. You will be performing detailed analysis of information to assess the financial capacity, philanthropic tendencies, giving propensity, and affiliations to Tufts of individuals, organizations and foundations to develop giving profiles. This position will also assist the director with the routine operations of the department; processing bills, maintaining the office budget, coordinating staff travel and reimbursements. Minimum Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience.
  • At least 1-2 years of general office work experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize work (meeting frequent and changing deadlines).
  • Ability to collaborate successfully with a diverse group of people.
Preferred Experience:
  • Knowledge of basic budget management.
  • Familiarity with fundraising databases (Advance).
  • Knowledge of fundraising related aspects of a research university.
  • Strong analytical skills- ability to analyze and interpret information.
