College of Business - Department of Risk Management & Insurance, Real Estate, & Legal Studies
Assists the department chair with administrative support to include serving as the initial contact & ambassador for the department to students & visitors, face-to-face and via email/correspondence; prepare correspondence, coordinating recurring administrative tasks; maintaining filing system; maintaining departmental policies & procedures; supervising undergraduate/graduate student assistants; answering telephone & maintaining supplies & equipment.
Assist dept Chair with academic and student support for the three curriculum areas (RMI, REE, BUL) including assisting with the coordination of all registration activities (drop/add, course/grade rosters); responsible for assisting with schedule preparation (room/faculty teaching schedules, enrollment tracking, CSM input/maintenance); FACET, faculty evaluations, Promotion and Tenure; AACSB/QER reporting, textbook compliance and curriculum maintenance.
Assist dept Chair with financial administration such as maintenance/reconciliation of E&G funds, foundation accounts, faculty travel and distribution of scholarship monies.
Coordinate activities of annual Insurance Days student placement program; Maintain alumni database, job board, student resumes on dept website and coordinate website updates.
Other responsibilities as assigned by dept Chair or as routinely arise in the academic department. Troubleshoot problems; coordinate with copy center for timely production of exams and academic materials; assist with activities of the Centers housed under dept umbrella as needed.
High school diploma/equivalent and two years of full-time experience related to the duties of this position.
(Note: Post-high school education may substitute at the comparable rate.)
Experience communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suites.
Experience with office practices, procedures, and etiquette.
This is an USPS (University Support Personnel System) position.
