Description


This is a limited term position ending December 31, 2018. This is a part time position working 15 hours per week, and is not benefits eligible. This is a grant funded position and is not eligible for severance pay.




The mission of the Energy Metabolism Lab is to research factors influencing weight regulation and contribute findings that will help reduce the national obesity epidemic. Studies are conducted on both nutrition (determinants of energy intake and expenditure) and eating behavior. Interventions are being created to expand options for control of energy intake and expenditure at the individual and group level.

Weight Loss Counselor with at least 2 years’ experience leading group behavioral programs for the Healthy Weight for Living program. Must have experience in all aspects of program delivery including group management, program materials, and individual support for participants.

Qualifications
Basic Requirements:

  • Required minimum bachelor degree including nutrition, and health coaching experience with the Healthy Weight for Living program for > 2 years.
  • Experience using videoconferencing to manage group behavior programs.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience evaluating, refreshing and updating administrative policies, office systems and budgets within an educational setting strongly preferred.
  • Experience working effectively with young adults/adolescents, families, faculty, senior administration and staff members within a similar higher education setting is strongly preferred.
  • Strategic leadership and management skills, including the ability to recruit and develop outstanding staff and support a team of colleagues within a demanding office environment are a plus.
  • A demonstrated understanding of strategic planning, experience utilizing data and assessment to inform decision making, and effective program advocacy skills are all preferred.
  • Experience successfully engaging campus climate issues through co-curricular student-focused programs and leadership development a plus.


Special Work Schedule Requirements:
Ability to work from home via laptop or computer as well as mobile device. You will use your own mobile phone and laptop/computer to complete your responsibilities. These devices will not be provided to you via Tufts University. Hours will vary on a weekly basis but will be responsible for 15 hours per week. The job requires some flexibility with schedule to accommodate classes in different time zones as well as makeup classes for participants unable to attend the regularly scheduled session.
