Staff Research Associate I

The successful candidate will be expected to execute a variety of neurobiology techniques and administer behavioral testing of live rodents. While the majority of assays have been optimized, the ability to troubleshoot potential difficulties will be necessary. Primary responsibilities will involve close team work with other staff members to administer behavior tests and to perform immunohistochemical analyses of molecular and structural components of the rodent brain. These techniques are well established in the lab, and while the majority of skills and techniques will be learned on the job, however basic lab experience in rodent behavioral studies and standard neurophysiology techniques (rodent euthanasia, tissue cryosectioning, immunohistochemistry, confocal/brightfield microscopy) and molecular assays is highly desirable. Secondary job responsibilities will involve general lab maintenance and other duties necessary to the normal operation of a laboratory, as well as collation of collected data. The successful candidate will exhibit a high degree of maturity, organizational skills, good physical health and the ability to work with a variety of different people.
