Instructor / Assistant Professor - Accounting

Job description

Tenure-track position to provide quality and innovative instruction in Accounting Principles and Technical Accounting, and other business related courses. Normal teaching load is 15 hours per semester with the possibility of voluntary overloads during long and summer terms, including day, evening, possibly Saturday, off-campus, and online courses. The successful candidate will effectively deliver instruction in multiple modalities; teach traditional, non-traditional, and dual credit students; proficiently manage student information system and learning management system technologies; effectively mentor students, including assisting with advising and registration; supply professional leadership in curriculum development; continue professional development; serve on departmental and college committees; participate in college- and course-level assessments; and perform other duties as assigned.

A minimum of an Master’s Degree in Accounting or MBA with 18 graduate hours in Accounting is required. Evidence of successful community college or equivalent teaching experience preferred. Must be familiar with current trends and different software applications. Candidate must demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of the unique needs of students as well as the diverse academic, social, economic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of students. Must comply with established college standards and policies.

This position is security-sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of the Texas Education Code §51.215.
