Position Summary: The Associate Director, Career Consulting in the Career & Leadership for MBA & Alumni department is responsible for career coaching and consulting provided to the job seeking MBA student and alumni population focused in the areas of investment banking, Wall Street and corporate finance at UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School. The 2,000+ MBA student population is made up of students in the full-time MBA program, Evening MBA, Weekend MBA, Global OneMBA and MBA@UNC online program, and the 35,000+ alumni population includes alumni from the UNC Kenan-Flagler BSBA, MBA, MAC and PhD programs. The Associate Director will provide one-on-one coaching and consulting to job seeking MBA students, and will report to the Senior Associate Director of Career Consulting within the Career & Leadership for MBA & Alumni department. The Associate Director will also manage and/or participate in several career management-related initiatives and events throughout the year. The position will work collaboratively with staff within Career Consulting, Career & Leadership Services, Employer Engagement & Recruiting, as well as numerous key departments across the School, like Business Partnerships, BSBA Career Management, MAC Career Management, MBA Student Engagement, Centers and others.

Education Requirements: An undergraduate degree is required. A master's degree in a relevant field, such as an MBA from a top 30 business school, is strongly preferred. All degrees must be from accredited institutions.
Qualification and Experience: Critical skills include: the ability to build internal and external relationships with broad constituencies; a demonstrated commitment to customer service; and the ability to work both independently and in a team environment. The candidate must have strong writing, verbal, and presentation skills, and be able to communicate effectively with a diverse population of high-performing individuals. Candidate should have at least 5 years of post-undergraduate relevant work experience in a corporate or graduate academic setting. Demonstrated knowledge of career management and leadership development programming is a plus. Experience with coaching/managing MBAs in industry, consulting with MBA students one-on-one, career mapping, program management, corporate recruiting, facilitation and/or training is a plus. The successful applicant will have a strong comfort level working in a fast-paced, energetic environment, and be able to multitask and meet multiple deadlines. Candidate must also demonstrate initiative as well as project or event management skills, possess an entrepreneurial orientation, and have a proven track record of results-oriented achievement. Candidates must be able to occasionally work evenings, and be able to travel occasionally to support various job-related functions.
