Advertised Job Summary: JOB DUTIES INCLUDE: Technical Assistance: Collect, analyze and use data from early childhood programs, licensing representatives, community partners in the service delivery area to meet the diversity of early childhood settings (center-based, faith- based, school-based, home-based). Conduct on-site technical assistance to assigned counties/regions and develop quality improvement plans in partnerships with early childhood programs to maintain or increase program wide quality levels. Plan and implement child care networks (child care directors, family child care, special interest groups) in local communities to increase program quality and advocacy. Consumer Awareness and Referral Services: Distribute brochures and resource information to community partners and local organizations regarding quality child care. Provide useful, accurate, understandable and comprehensive consumer education along with resources for parents including informing parents seeking child care to contact the SC-CCRRN child care referral services. Plan and implement consumer education workshops that are available for parents and community partners at times and locations convenient for parents to attend including partnering with local businesses to conduct employee "lunch & learn" workshops. Training: Conduct and develop partnerships with appropriate partners in the community to offer training opportunities for parents, business community and early childhood programs. Plan and implement training at times convenient for stakeholders that includes follow-up technical assistance, including on-site when appropriate, to help early childhood educators put knowledge gained in training into practice in the program. Other: Assist other departments in major projects and perform other resource and referral duties as needed including planning and implementing "Week of the Young Child, Stand Up for Children, Provider Appreciation Day, and establishing Director/Family Child Care Networks. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions): Master's degree and 1 year training and development experience, or bachelor's degree and 3 years training and development experience. Must also be bilingual in English and Spanish and be proficient in the ability to speak, read, and write in Spanish.
