Advertised Job Summary: Reporting to the Senior Associate Director for Marketing and Recruitment, the Associate Director for Marketing and Special Events leads the strategic marketing efforts for the University of South Carolina within the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. S/he will focus on student-centric strategies and develop marketing and event plans that drive awareness and student engagement from initial student prospect through enrollment. The Associate Director will lead a team of admissions professionals who are responsible for the planning, development and implementation of marketing strategies to include a combination of special events, print publications, letter generation, outreach mailings, web and digital communication, social media, market research, and one-on-one personalization. S/he is responsible for assisting in the collaboration among various campus partners and academic departments to provide a streamlined marketing approach for the pre-enrollment student life cycle. The Associate Director must stay up-to-date on current marketing and event trends in enrollment management and be in a position to impact marketing decisions with data, analytics, and assessment. The Associate Director will play a critical role in establishing, maintaining, and assessing the competitive position of USC's undergraduate recruiting and admissions efforts. S/he will work collaboratively with the director, senior associate director, peer associate directors, and assistant directors in planning and implementing admissions strategies, programs, and initiatives. Some overtime and travel (both one-day and overnight) is required.
Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions): Master's degree and 6 years professional experience related to the development and dissemination of informational material, or Bachelor's degree and 8 years related experience. Possess a valid driver's license and ability to operate a motor vehicle. Ability to occasionally travel overnight for recruitment purposes.
