Peer Tutor (PT)

Job description

Reporting to the Tutor and Learning Strategies Supervisor (Sugar Grove or Plano) or the Tutor Supervisor (Aurora Downtown or Aurora Fox Valley), peer tutors provide tutoring to students in appropriate courses and serve as a receptionist to the Tutoring Centers, as needed.

Provide tutor assistance in subject areas in one-on-one and small group settings.

Assist students entering the Center by acting as a receptionist and session facilitator.

Maintain scheduled working hours.

Develop and nurture rapport with peers and faculty.

Visit classrooms, as needed, to introduce students to tutoring services.

Attend training activities to comply with certification requirements before and/or during semesters.

Complete and submit all required forms (e.g., time sheets, evaluations, questionnaires distributed at workshops).

Adhere to all tutoring policies.
