Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
The successful applicant will possess: strong oral and written communication skills; strong organizational and computer skills; effectiveg research and analytical skills; demonstrated effectiveness working collaboratively with a diverse group of students and staff; and a willingness to work some nights and weekends. Preference will be given to those who have prior experience working with undergraduates in a university setting, and have a career interest in enhancing the student-athlete experiene, studnet-athlete development programming, and academic support services.

Major Responsibilities: Under the general supervision of the Directors of Academic Services and Career and Leadership, this position offers a comprehensive two-year opportunity designed to assist the Office of Academic Services (OAS) and the Office of Career and Leadership (C&L) and to prepare an aspiring new professional in the field of student-athlete support services in order to obtain a full-time position is this growing career field.
The incumbent will work with a diverse population of student-athletes under the supervision of the full-time C&L and OAS staff members. Primary responsibilities with the C&L team include assisting with events, workshops, student organizations, courses, programming evaluation and development, serving as a career coach/mentor, and establishing graduation and life after athletics plans. Primary responsibilities for Academic Services include working individually with assigned student-athletes as an academic advisor and mentor to monitor academic progress, develop time management and organization skills, and assist with academic course planning.
Additional opportunities include assisting with recruiting, leading presentations, attending staff meetings, communicating with coaches, and assisting with daily and semester reporting. The incumbent will be provided with regular professional development opportunities to build the skills necessary to succeed as a professional in the student-athlete support services industry.

Conditions of Appointment: This is a one year 100% fixed term Academic Staff appointment with the option to renew for a second year if mutually agreed upon by incumbent and supervisor. Appointment will end no later than two years after the start date. Salary will be assigned within the appropriate range, commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience. An excellent benefits package is also included. Anticipated start date will be August 28, 2018. Successful applicants are responsible for ensuring their eligibility to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the United States, a lawful permanent resident, a foreign national authorized to work in the United States without need of employer sponsorship) on or before the effective date of appointment.
