Access Center for Disability Resources Interpreter (PT)

Job description

The interpreter reports to the Access Center for Disability Resources Accommodations Coordinator. The position assists deaf or hearing impaired students with communication. Also assists staff and students with disabilities as assigned.

Interpret for students or for staff who use interpreting services as assigned.

Assist with the Access Center for Disability Resources office responsibilities as needed.

Work night classes if necessary and provide substitute interpreting as needed.

Share interpreting responsibility with other staff interpreters.

Perform other duties as assigned for the Access Center for Disability Resources.

Position Qualifications:
Associate's degree in Interpreter Training preferred.

One year interpreting experience in educational setting preferred.

Valid Illinois Interpreters License - Intermediate Level Proficiency required
