Position Summary: The primary purpose of this position is to coordinate the residency and fellowship application process, including processing incoming applications, organization of interviews and associated events, collection and reporting of application and interview scores, organization of faculty ranking meeting and communication with the central application service; facilitate the incoming residents' UNC Hospital application and orientation process, create and manage the annual rotation, lecture and conference schedules with the Program Director. Managing of attendance and evaluation of the E*Value system and occasional assistance in facilitating leave coverage by residents. Ongoing duties include maintaining accurate records and verification of training in conjunction with HR and the appropriate Program Director. Coordinate medical student rotations in the department, including approval of rotations, creating and coordinating rotation schedules to fit both student and faculty needs, student testing and evaluation, communications between faculty and students, communication with the UNC School of Medicine, and facilitating student evaluations by faculty, including the creation and management of electronic evaluations. This position will also coordinate all Continuing Medical Education (CME) activities of the Department. These duties include, but are not limited to, coordination and organization of annual lectureships, grand rounds, and ongoing CME programs given throughout the fiscal year, coordination and organization of the annual UNC Eye Symposium, which requires coordination of external sponsors. Required to work with various faculty, the chair and administrator to coordinate the event planning, securing Medical School CME accreditation of each event, ensuring program compliance with all applicable federal and state laws, UNCH policies, and departmental policies. Also includes securing funding for events through educational grants and exhibit requests, coordinating components such as honorais, travel and housing needs, awards, banquets/catering, venue reservations/contracts/orders, marketing, communications with attendees, and communicating with the appropriate CME Office to provide certificates to attendees.

Qualification and Experience: Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
