Position Summary

Perform radioimmuno assays on animal serum for diagnostic purposes; data reduction and assess assay performance through quality control checks to ensure accurate diagnosis; operate, maintain and calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment; maintain reagent supply inventories; keep laboratory area clean, consistent with handling of radioactive materials; and interact with veterinarians and clients to discuss laboratory procedures and results.

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four year college degree program in a related science field; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in basic laboratory techniques; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; the job may require specialty certifications, approvals, or training; may require successful completion/continued maintenance of accessibility standards.

Desired Qualifications

Experience working with hazardous materials, including radioactive material and their safety regulations.

Work hours are Monday through Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., but may vary to include weekends and holidays on a rotational basis
