Online Program Services Specialist

Position Summary

Reporting to the Online Program Services (OPS) area of Teaching and Learning with Technology, the Online Program Services Specialist collaborates with academic and administrative units to develop and deploy technology enhanced strategies, approaches and programs such as fully online, hybrid and low-residency degree and non-degree offerings. The OPS Specialist researches, engages with potential internal and external partners, and develops strategic materials in order to advise Deans, Schools, Departments and Programs on internal and external service offerings which may help meet their technology enhanced education and enrollment goals; and that will assist the school in engaging with University academic and administrative leaders necessary to see their program to fruition. These units include Office of the Provost, EVP, Enrollment Services, IT and Finance, Student Affairs and Governance Committees. The position will manage relationships and collaborations with current and potential educational technology company partners in conjunction with the Program Manager, Online Graduate Program Management.

Qualifications

Required Education:Bachelor’s degree.Preferred Education:Master’s degree plus 3-5 years in online program development or support. PMP Certification a plus.Required Experience:Project management experience. 3-5 years experience working in both higher education and with higher education service providers.Preferred Experience:5-7 years demonstrated leadership in higher education or in support of technology for education. Experience developing and/or advising on online programs in higher education environment or with online program service provider. Experience with strategic planning and metrics tracking.Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Ability to navigate complex systems and organizations, strong communication and organizational skills. Demonstrated exposure to and interest in emerging trends in technology enhanced education. Familiarity with the landscape of online education in higher education. Strong project management skills to manage all aspects of development for technology enhanced programs including needs analysis, timelines, approvals, processes and procedures, communication and implementation. Ability to work collaboratively with both academic and administrative executives and staff at all levels of the organization. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are also required, along with strong research, organization, interpersonal, multitasking, and presentation skills.Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Knowledge of the OPM market and providers.
