Position SummaryThe Assistant Director of Admissions will assist the Director of Admissions with the strategic management of the admissions process and operations, with a focus on recruitment and admissions for Wagner’s online programs. The incumbent will support data and admissions process management, application review and verification, student enrollment, and other core functions of the admissions cycle.

A strong candidate will understand the success of the NYU Wagner Admissions and Financial Aid team and contribute to increased enrollment by: a) overseeing application processing operations, including implementing the processes and systems needed to support data imports and exports (including applications and test scores); b) working with internal counterparts and external partners for our online programs on the advisement and counseling of prospective graduate students on admissions requirements, application procedures, and financial aid options; c) work with internal and external partners on online program recruitment activities, including virtual and in-person recruitment events; d) evaluating and assessing student applications to determine if applicant fits the desired student profile and whether or not the student would have a successful and positive academic experience; e) managing the student enrollment process, including creating and updating the appropriate records in NYU’s student information systems; f) working with the Associate Director of Financial Aid to ensure financial aid awards are appropriately loaded in NYU’s admissions and student information systems; g) supervising and training student and temporary employees on certain aspects of projects; and h) assisting with budget forecasting and development, when appropriate.

**This is a 24-month fixed-term position with the possibility for ongoing renewal.**

QualificationsRequired Education:
Bachelor’s degree is required.

Preferred Education:
Master's degree in Public Administration, Education, Counseling or related fields is preferred.

Required Experience:
3 - 5 years related experience in recruitment, advising, admissions or student services.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
This position requires excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills as well as strong problem-solving and organizational skills. Must be able to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies with a high degree of customer service orientation. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to acquire technical and functional proficiency with new software applications.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge or personal experience with graduate-level coursework is desired. Previous experience with educational databases and/or HTML or CSS. An understanding of online programs, or an eagerness to learn.
