Communications Coordinator - Provost's Office-18001489

The Office of the Provost is seeking a Communications Coordinator to maintain comprehensive and current internal and external audience facing digital representation of the office.

The Communications Coordinator will:

  • Oversee any Provost Office announcements (new hires, communication related to searches, etc.) working with Jonathan
  • Attend strategic communications council, to help Jonathan serve as a liaison to our office.
  • University Announcements working with BOA and president’s office
  • Update Proposal deadlines: Laidlaw Scholars, Innovates & Collaborates, Talloires, UCTFD, International, Bridging Differences, Faculty Senate;including sensitive materials and important dates.
  • Manage website enhancement: To design and link to Tufts Facebook
    • Constantly update pages-Remove expired information (dates, change names/titles, policies)
    • Fix broken links
  • Promote Workshops through various announcements.
  • Ensure all provost projects are represented
  • Optimize search capabilities
  • Facilitate communication and the reviewing of content with various campus stakeholders before announcements are sent
  • In conjunction with the Director of BOA, write, edit, and format University wide correspondence/announcements, internal and external
  • Back up to sort messages to the Office of the Provost email account into those s/he can respond to, those to forward to others, and those to be reviewed with the Provost.
  • Research organize, and compile information and materials
  • Participate in developing and maintaining content of Office of the Provost website and coordinate other website projects.
  • Manage websites for the Office of the Provost, Global Initiatives, CDO’s, Laidlaw Scholars, Collaborates/Innovates, Faculty Senate, etc. and other projects in development.
  • Ensure all websites adhere to ADA standards
  • Perform regular content updates to the Office of the Provost and related websites through WordPress and Drupal with support from the Digital Services team in University Communication and Marketing (UCM).
  • Will work on other special projects as assigned.

Basic Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years of experience.
  • Must possess advanced writing, proof reading and editing skills.
  • Superior customer service.
  • Familiarity with WordPress and Drupal CMS’s.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree and 5-7 years of experience.
  • Experience designing marketing and communications materials, including print, web, digital and social media.
