Full-Time Commercial Music Instructor/Technician
The Commercial Music Instructor/Technician reports to the Commercial Music, Visual and Performing Arts Department Chair. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to, classroom and lab instruction of Synthesis, Video Editing, Video Production, Audio Post Production, Electronic Music, Film Scoring and Audio Engineering. The Commercial Music instructor/Technician’s responsibilities will include managing student workers, maintaining labs and studios and assisting with live sound reinforcement for campus events. Fluency in music technology software such as Logic, Reason, Pro Tools, and Sibelius is desirable. The successful candidate will provide professional leadership in the development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum, advise and recruit students, attend graduation ceremonies, participate in professional development activities, maintain an inventory of equipment and supplies, and work with the various administrative functions of the college. The Commercial Music Instructor/Technician may be required to participate in off-campus recruiting and promotional activities and supervise students in off-campus intern positions. Performs other related work as assigned. Teaching assignment may include day and evening classes. Other duties as assigned.
