Director of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (ConVerge)
The Director is a full-time administrator responsible for providing strategic vision, operational leadership, and programmatic execution concerning all aspects of the College’s Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, known as “ConVerge.” Aligned with the College’s ambitious new Strategic Plan, and in the context of a comprehensive liberal arts curriculum, the Center is designed to enhance the academic experience for students by fostering and promoting a culture of entrepreneurship on campus. The Center also serves as a resource for alumni and community entrepreneurs, and seeks to position North Central College as a regional leader in entrepreneurship education.
An effective Director will exhibit the leadership and management qualities to develop and execute a strategy for growth and success for ConVerge. The ideal candidate will be an entrepreneurial leader with experience launching and growing businesses, and will also have a keen understanding of the purpose and processes of a small, comprehensive liberal arts college. The Director will drive the creation and growth of programs that inspire and equip students to become entrepreneurs and innovators, strengthening their competencies and skills through education, mentoring, networking, and resources.
The Director will have exceptional communication and networking skills and an enthusiasm for developing strong relationships with students, alumni, faculty, administration, and local community entrepreneurs and businesses. Under the Director’s leadership, the Center will be well-integrated with the School of Business and Entrepreneurship, well-connected to the Center for Social Impact, and partner closely with many College offices, including Corporate Relations, Alumni and Career Development. The Director will also be fully engaged in the local and regional entrepreneurial ecosystem, looking for strategic partnership opportunities that could benefit students and the College.
Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred, and/or proven success through relevant business experience.
A minimum of (5) five years of relevant experience supporting or running startup organizations, educating entrepreneurs, or driving growth for innovation-focused organizations is required.
