The Office of Academic Affairs supports the predoctoral dental curriculum – content, faculty and scheduling. The Academic Dean, the Senior Education Technology Administrator, the Administrative Coordinator, the Academic Affairs Administrator and the Program Coordinator work closely with the Staff Assistant.

The Office of Academic Affairs is responsible for managing the on-line curriculum course content (TUSK and TRUNK), examination grading and posting, student course and faculty evaluations, student clinical progress and Dean’s letters of recommendation. This Office also manages all internal and external survey data, including reports for the Commission on Dental Accreditation.

The Office of Academic Affairs coordinates and develops innovation in the curriculum (integration and use of technology and assessments).

The Staff Assistant is responsible for overseeing the clinical grading for the pre-doctoral DMD students. The individual will work with each department to understand the competencies by department. The Staff member will update the policies/procedures and forms used for clinical grades. The assistant will gather all the data and enter it into the clinical grade database ensuring accuracy and timeliness. The coordinator will generate reports to monitor progress and perform periodic audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with requirements. The individual will work with senior leadership to identify, develop and implement and electronic grading process and reports. The individual will be a key member of the team that works on this initiative. The Staff member will also work with other staff members on computer based testing/grades.

Basic Requirements:

  • BS/BA.
  • 3+ years’ experience in an office setting.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Individual must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to handle the high volume of faculty and students that come through the office.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in an academic or health care setting.
  • MBA/MS.
