Posting Summary

The Executive Director for the Center for Health and Wellbeing (CHWB) is responsible for the strategic leadership and visionary direction of a multidisciplinary team and will champion the areas of: Administration, Counseling and Psychiatric Services, Student Health Services, Living Well (Education and Outreach), and Division I Athletic Training in their successful management of operations and the advancement of integrated programs and services. The Executive Director reports to the Vice Provost for Student Affairs and serves as a member of the Student Affairs senior leadership team. The Executive director will direct and evaluate financial, personnel, programmatic and operational activities for the CHWB.
As the Executive Director and Senior Public Health Officer, this position will engage with the University President for responsibilities of overseeing public health initiatives for the campus and creating meaningful opportunities to collaborate with other campus leaders who are working to positively influence student health and campus culture.
Responsible for promoting a safe, inclusive, and respectful Center for Health and Wellbeing for students and staff of all races, ethnicities, religions, national origins, genders, sexual orientations, abilities, and ages. Responsible for supporting the mission and values of the University of Vermont.

Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)

Ph.D. or M.D. in medicine, public health, social work, health education, or related field, with five years' administrative experience in a counseling or medical healthcare environment required. Demonstrated leadership in a college health or counseling center, or relevant healthcare administration, with experience integrating physical and mental health services required. Understanding of the unique aspects of counseling and medical services for college-age populations and experience working with diverse and underrepresented student populations required. Demonstrated ability to handle complex systems and organizations. Effective interpersonal skills as well as writing and public speaking skills required. Demonstrated commitment to and comfort with diversity and social justice required. Experience with electronic health record systems required.

Desirable Qualifications

Experience with contract negotiation, accreditation process, managed care, and insurance systems desirable.
