Job Description Summary:
Job ID: 6091 - FT - Unclassified (salaried)
Under general to minimal direction, perform documented information security processes, with a primary focus on the university‚Äôs information security risk assessment process.  As directed, research information security topics, tools, techniques, and threats.  Serve as an information security resource on projects. This position will be responsible for working with clients to evaluate information security risk across the institution.

Duties/Physical Demands:
Some duties & responsibilities will vary depending on level of appointment.
1.       Under general/minimal direction, follow documented information security processes.
2.       As directed, research information security topics, tools, techniques, and threats.
3.       May serve as an information security resource on projects.
4.       Learn procedures, contacts, etc. for handling service requests, incident resolution (both hardware and software), etc. for services.
5.       Participate in change management processes.
6.       Prioritize information security issues and work on multiple tickets concurrently.
7.       Perform documented information security processes under general direction.
8.      Actively promote a customer-oriented approach throughout IT Services.
9.      Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
10.    May log tickets with vendors & monitor vendor communities, security mailing lists, etc.
11.    May monitor existing tickets and manage resolution
12.    May analyze logs to identify root cause
13.    Learn how to find answers. Understand available tools and resources to determine correct answers to security issues.
14.    May occasionally teach one credit bearing course, per semester, on an as needed basis.

Minimum Qualifications:
Information Security Analyst I requires Bachelor's degree and 1 year relevant experience.
Information Security Analyst II requires Bachelor's degree and 2 years relevant experience.
Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience providing the knowledge/skills/abilities listed above may be substituted. Experience in these knowledge/skills/abilities may be earned concurrently.
