Stewardship Specialist

Job description

Albion College invites applications for the Stewardship Specialist position within the Advancement Operations Department. Albion College Donor Relations and Stewardship establishes stewardship programs across the College for acknowledging, recognizing, celebrating, and communicating the impact of giving to donors. This position will support the planning and execution of recognition, reporting, and appreciation communications and activities, as a means to strategically build and nurture lifelong relationships between the College and donors.

The Stewardship Specialist will support the Director of Donor Relations and Stewardship to establish systems and processes for stewardship reporting for annual fund and unrestricted donors, working closely with engagement officers as they solicit annual fund and leadership gifts. The Specialist will also provide and promote high-level and consistent communication to Albion College’s alumni and friends, focusing on donor acknowledgement, donor recognition, and creating the positive, interactive environment necessary to motivate donors to invest in Albion College Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, and organize a diversified workload with sensitivity and confidentiality. FLSA Classification: Salaried / Exempt / Administrative

Status: Full-Time

Duration: 12 months per year


  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 2+ years of experience in higher education and/or donor relations
  • Ability to proactively design and execute action plans to achieve project and departmental goals, with limited supervision.
  • Ability to think strategically about donor engagement to generate creative solutions for stewarding donors
