The President is the Chief Executive Officer of Terra State Community College and is directly responsible to the Board of Trustees. The President has ultimate authority for the development, operation, evaluation, and administration of the affairs of the College within the Policy Governance© model of the Board of Trustees and pursuant to statutes and regulations of the State of Ohio.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Articulates the educational philosophy of the College to its various constituents
Develops the organizational structure of the College and delegates authority within the adopted pattern
Ensures that all divisions and departments adhere to published College, State, and federal regulations and policies
Prepares the agendas for Board meetings in collaboration with the Chair and/or Vice-Chair
Promotes communication between and among the faculty, staff, students, and the Board of Trustees of Terra State Community College
Represents the College to governmental, professional, and civic organizations; facilitates governmental relations and advocates to legislators on behalf of the College
Provides overall direction for short- and long-range planning for the College
Prepares an annual budget for Board approval
Provides overall direction for academic programs to ensure quality instruction
Manages the human resource functions of the College
Facilitates a cooperative working relationship between the College and the Terra College Foundation. Cultivates donors and solicits funds in collaboration with the Foundation
Develops and maintains a positive relationship with the news media and other public relations vehicles within the region.
Stays attuned to students' needs and places student welfare above other considerations
Completes other duties as assigned by the Board of Trustees
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints; and resolving problems.
