Position Status: Full-Time

Position Summary:
Henderson Library. Under the supervision of the Government Documents Librarian, the Library Technical Assistant maintains the government documents physical collections as well as helps to make electronic government information available.
Essential Functions

  • Hires, trains, and supervises student employees as well as organizes and assigns daily work schedules.
  • Supervises shelving of new materials, and maintains collection on shelves by supervising re-shelving of materials used, and shifts sections of collection as required.
  • Plans, coordinates, supervises and participates in processing of U. S. Government Publishing Office Depository shipments.
  • Supervises receipt, opening, processing, and check-in of shipments and other new receipts of government documents.
  • Maintains condition and order of collection in various formats.
  • Gathers statistical data on Depository receipts, use and other departmental activity.
  • Compiles monthly statistical reports and keeps departmental records up to date.

    High School Diploma or equivalent

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
    Effective communication (verbal and written), organization and human relations skills; ability to work well in a diverse environment; proficiency with computer and Microsoft Office Applications software including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; legally authorized to work in the United States; successful completion of background investigation prior to employment.

    Associate’s Degree

    Salary Range: $26,233 - $32,768
