Office Assistant 3 - Extended Campus



We are currently seeking skilled and team-oriented applicants for the following position: Office Assistant 3

Under general supervision of the Process Manager, Faculty and Student Support Services, this position will support the units within the EWU's Outreach and Engagement. This position will independently perform a variety of complex clerical projects and assignments such as preparing, reviewing, verifying and processing student registration, test proctoring protocol, records and documents; establishing and maintaining confidential records on electronic filing systems and data base files; extracting and compiling enrollment statistical report information from university and department data files; composing correspondence, fax and email transmittal responses to frequent requests for information; and responding to inquiries and interpret information requiring substantive knowledge of university and departmental policies and procedures; help students resolve problems with department processes and procedures.

Distinguishing Characteristics
Assignments and projects are of a complex nature. Independent performance of complex clerical assignments requires substantive knowledge of a variety of regulations, rules, policies, procedures, processes, materials, or equipment. Problems are resolved by choosing from established procedures and/or devising work methods. Guidance is available for new or unusual situations. Deviation from established parameters requires approval. Work is periodically reviewed to verify compliance with established policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED
    AND
  • One year of professional office clerical experience
    OR
  • Equivalent education/experience

Candidate must demonstrate interest, ability and/or experience promoting cultural competency, universal accessibility and/or diversity.



Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree;
  • Minimum two years direct experience;
  • Working knowledge of EWU computer systems, i.e. Banner/Eaglenet, Jasper and Discoverer reporting, Canvas, FileMakerPro, Survey Monkey, SNAP Survey;
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel for spreadsheet development and reporting, i.e. functions, formulas, filters, pivot tables, charts, graphs, etc.
