Position Summary: As a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Genetics, the individual will be expected to conduct research on the mechanistic understanding of prostate cancer and other human malignancy types and their treatments. Routinely, a set of integrated biochemical, genomic and cancer biology approaches will be utilized to study the role of transcription factors and/or chromatin regulators. The qualified individual should have demonstrated expertise in data generation and analysis of epigenetics and epigenomics, RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, and whole genome sequencing data. In addition, the individual will be expected to use small-molecule epigenetic inhibitors to explore issues related to cancer therapeutics. This role will help conduct research, develop new research directions and foster collaborations between researchers and bioinformatics specialists. The position will report to Dr. Sheldon Earp in the Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center and will be assigned to specific collaborations and labs based on mutual interest.
