PENN-VINGROUP PROJECT COORDINATOR
Duties: The University of Pennsylvania (Penn) has a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and a multi-year contract with VinUniversity and Vinmec, entities that are subsidiaries of Vingroup, a multi-national conglomerate headquartered in Hanoi, Vietnam. This contract fully funded through 2020 commits Penn to provide advisory services to Vingroup to help create new medical and nursing schools as part of a nonprofit, private university in Vietnam. Accordingly, staff will be required to plan, implement and administer this partnership.
The Penn-Vingroup Project Coordinator will report to the Penn-Vingroup Project Operations Director and provides assistance to the Project Director, and the overall academic team who will provide the advice and deliverables as mutually agreed upon in the contract.
The Project Coordinator provides administrative and logistical support for the Penn-Vingroup Project and coordinates the day-to-day fiscal, administrative, and operational activities of this funded project. The project is focused on providing advisory services to the Penn-Vingroup project, as outlined in the approved and signed contract, which runs June 1, 2018 through October 1, 2020. Duties generally include providing analysis and support for projects, administrative, and general operations. Duties include logistical and travel support, notetaking, assistance with creating relevant reports and program marketing.
This position is contingent upon funding and is currently funded through September 30, 2020.
Qualifications: The minimum of a High School diploma with 5 years of professional experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, required. College degree or coursework with relevance to global health, project/operations management, preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of issues in global health and related programs; excellent project management, writing, customer service, management and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently and on own initiative; ability to effectively manage and prioritize tasks and initiatives for self. Willing to travel to support project and client team in Vietnam. Significant international experience required, including time living abroad and familiarity navigating cultural differences and cross-cultural communication. Able to work in a fast-paced work environment and meet deadlines. Familiarity with Penn processes and data systems highly preferred. Minimum professional proficiency preferred in Vietnamese language, both written and oral.
