The University of Colorado Boulder student conduct system is based on a developmental and progressive response to student conduct violations. It is aimed at helping students acknowledge responsibility for their actions and assist them in learning behaviors enabling them to be successful members of the CU community. The Coordinator assists in the day-to-day operations of the student conduct system. This position serves primarily as a conduct officer for the adjudication of student misconduct related to Residence Hall students, and has a high amount of student contact. The Coordinator for Student Conduct is responsible for conducting initial assessment of student conduct code violations and managing the case load of 5-6 Hall Directors in their capacity as a hearing officer.

It is aimed at helping students acknowledge responsibility for their actions and assist them in learning behaviors, which will assist them in being successful members of the CU community.
What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
- Provide oversight for the adjudication of nonacademic Student Code of Conduct violations, specifically in the residence halls.
- Adjudicate a large caseload of primarily first year students in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct, with an emphasis on education, reflection, and growth throughout the process.
- Assign appropriate sanctions to students found responsible for violating the Student Code of Conduct.
- As a university hearing officer, adhere to code of conduct due process standards which must be compliant with Colorado State Statutes and federal laws including, but not limited to, FERPA and Title IX.
- When necessary, adjudicate alleged academic misconduct violations.
- Guide the student conduct process to create a seamless operational and administrative environment that exceeds student needs and expectations, and is highly responsive to students, parents, staff, and the needs of other units on campus.
- Collaborate with Hall Directors to provide support in their role as hearing officers.
- Perform other functions and assume other responsibilities related to case management as assigned.
- Oversee designated programs and special projects.
- Provide support and feedback for the development of student behavior programs for conduct matters.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Review incident reports and facilitate case assignments for residence life hearing officers through Maxient.
- Coach and advise five to six residence life Hall Directors in their role as a hearing officer.
- Maintain files on all assigned disciplinary cases, track sanctions and conduct investigations as necessary. Provide follow-up contact with students as needed.
- Monitor student's progress in required activities, approve and monitor activities as students' progress through the program.
- Facilitate restorative and educational workshops or groups, as needed.
- Provide exceptional leadership for all professional, classified, and student staff in the conduct area for the office of Residence Life and Student Conduct.
- Provide training for Hall Directors, Resident Advisors, and other student to prepare them for their roles within the conduct process.
- Participate on committees within student affairs, and the university, as needed.
- Provide support in the development and advancing of the department's philosophy, mission, and programs.
- Share leadership and resources, in the pursuit of campus initiatives, implementing them at the area level.

The anticipated starting salary is $48,500.

What We Require
- Master's degree in higher education administration, student personnel administration, counseling, or a related field.
- Graduate experience adjudicating student conduct cases in a university setting.
What You Will Need
- Ability to prioritize needs of a heavy caseload effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work in a high stress work environment; manage complex situations, and ensure caseload follow-up is completed in a timely manner.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated commitment to social justice.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective and collaborative supervisory and collegial working relationships.
- Operational knowledge of technology, computer programs, best practices in student conduct.
- Basic knowledge of the laws pertaining to student conduct work including FERPA, Due Process law, Title IX, and the Clery Act.
What We Would Like You To Have
- Full time , professional experience adjudicating student conduct cases in a university setting.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of assessment and evaluation in student affairs.
- Participation in the Gehring Institute.
- Experience with alternative dispute resolution practices or restorative justice practices.
- Training in Motivational Interviewing.
