The Chief Human Resources Office seeks a dynamic and collaborative HR Communications Specialist. This is a vital role responsible for directly supporting the communications needs of one of the HR Communities of Expertise. Incumbent will create all forms of digital and print communications such as emails, newsletters, collateral, website, presentations, and more. Audiences include internal UVA employees and external candidates for recruitment. The incumbent provides recommendations on content ideas, publications, content platform integration, and opportunities that communicate the initiatives and advance the reputation of UVA Human Resources. Knowledge of design tools including Adobe InDesign and PowerPoint to produce compelling and attractive communications pieces is required.
A Master's degree in English, Communications, or related field, is required but a Bachelor's degree plus two years of relevant experience may substitute for a Master's degree. At least five years of experience in communications, marketing, journalism, writing, or a related position where duties entail extensive communications development for audience on print and digital media is required. The HR Communications Specialist must have the ability to write in the voice of the organization and to work independently and as part of a team, as well as demonstrate the ability to manage multiple projects in a complex environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Adobe InDesign is required.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative, Photoshop, and Illustrator is preferred.
