Study Abroad Advisor - #002553
Posting Information: The Study Abroad Advisor provides leadership on all aspects of the Study Abroad programs with consultation of the Director of International Programs and Services. The Study Abroad Advisor reports to the Director of International Programs and Services. The following is a summary of the position responsibilities: 1. Administer all study abroad programs, which include but are not limited to: exchange, affiliated, and non-institutional. 2. Serve as the primary resource within the Office of International Programs and Services for study abroad programs. 3. Provide advice to faculty on study abroad program development. 4. Provide advice to students who plan to study abroad. 5. Provide leadership in marketing and outreach for all study abroad programs. 6. Communicate with international partners and program/service providers about program specifics. 7. Ensure safety and compliance for all program participants. 8. Manage the budget and all data related to study abroad programs. 9. Manage study abroad scholarships. 10. Oversee study abroad orientations, study abroad fair, and related events. 11. Supervise student workers. 12. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Training & Experience Requirements: 1. Master's in Higher Education and Student Affairs, International Education, or related fields. 2. Minimum 1 year of work experience in education abroad or related field 3. Knowledge of and experience with academic program development and implementation. 4. Experience in studying, living, or working abroad. 5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 6. Knowledge of international higher education systems
Preferred Qualifications: 1. Knowledge of one or more languages other than English preferred. 2. 3-5 years related work experience preferred.
